The Kimchi Festival is not just an event; it's a movement. Under our inspiring 2025 motto, "Fermenting the Future," we are crafting a vibrant cultural experience that, much like the transformative power of kimchi, nurtures growth, fosters connection, and cultivates a thriving, resilient community.

This festival, born from a profound need to support mental well-being and alleviate stress during the pandemic, remains passionately dedicated to building a healthier, more understanding, and supportive environment through the universal language of culture.

Last year, the Kimchi Festival proudly welcomed over 6,000 attendees, a testament to its undeniable appeal. This year, in 2025, we are poised to attract an estimated 10,000 food and culture enthusiasts from every walk of life to the heart of Philadelphia, Love Park. Your partnership is not just support; it's an investment in the future of our community.

THE HISTORY OF THE KIMCHI FESTIVAL

What began four years ago as a modest Kimchi workshop and Korean cultural showcase has rapidly blossomed into a cornerstone event, drawing thousands of visitors to Love Park each year. The Kimchi Festival offers a unique and comprehensive immersion into Korean culture, presenting everything from authentic cuisine and mesmerizing traditional dance to engaging folk games, dynamic K-pop performances, and exquisite arts and crafts – all in one unforgettable location.

KIMCHI MATTER: Uniting Through Sharing

In 2013, Korea’s ‘Kimjang Culture’, ‘the culture of making and sharing Kimchi’, was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The reason Kimjang, rather than Kimchi, has been designated as a cultural heritage is that the very act of making and sharing kimchi contains universal human values, such as the spirit of sharing between neighbors, solidarity between families, and the sense of solidarity as members of society.

UNESCO highly valued Kimjang as a culture that has been passed down through generations in daily family life, as an activity that creatively uses nature's bounty, fosters communication among various communities, and is a living culture that continues to this day while being a traditional culture. We will bring Korea's 'Kimjang culture,' which involves preparing food with care and sharing it with neighbors, to Love Park.

THE FESTIVAL: Dreaming the Future Together

The Kimchi Festival is a powerful catalyst for positive change. It's a beacon of hope and opportunity that transforms lives within immigrant communities and enriches the fabric of our entire city. We are steadfast in our commitment to channeling every festival proceed back into programs that ignite cultural understanding, uplift mental well-being, and fortify community bonds. Our core mission is clear: to cultivate a truly healthy community through immersive cultural experiences, bridging divides through communication and understanding, and providing critical support for mental wellness.

From essential educational initiatives to crucial mental health resources, and vibrant arts and cultural programs, your sponsorship of the Kimchi Festival is not just fundamental – it is absolutely critical to helping Asian immigrants and their children not just survive, but truly flourish in their new social and educational landscape here in the United States.
