The Kimchi Festival is a celebration of culture, connection, and community.
Under our 2026 motto, “SHARE THE CULTURE, SHARE THE LOVE — 문화를 나누고, 사랑을 나누다,” we invite people from every background to come together in the heart of Philadelphia to experience Korean culture through food, music, dance, art, and hands-on cultural activities.
Since its beginning, the Philadelphia Kimchi Festival has grown into a vibrant community celebration at LOVE Park. In 2025, approximately 10,000 people joined us for a day of Korean food, performances, cultural experiences, and community connection.
The festival has also received regional television and media coverage, including PBS in 2022, FOX29 in 2024, and PHL17 in 2025, helping introduce Korean culture and the spirit of the festival to audiences throughout the Philadelphia region.
In 2026, we invite you to join us once again at LOVE Park—and help us share Korean culture and share the love with Philadelphia.
THE HISTORY OF THE KIMCHI FESTIVAL
What began in 2022 as a modest kimchi workshop and Korean cultural showcase has grown into one of KCul’s signature public cultural events.
For four years, LOVE Park has provided a unique setting where Korean culture can be experienced in the center of Philadelphia—openly, joyfully, and together.
Today, the Philadelphia Kimchi Festival brings together thousands of visitors for an immersive cultural experience featuring:
Hands-on Kimchi Making Workshops
Korean food and K-Food experiences
Korean traditional dance and music
Korean drumming
K-Pop performances
Taekwondo demonstrations
Citizen Hanbok Fashion Show
Traditional Korean games

Uniting Communities Through Sharing
In 2013, Kimjang—the tradition of making and sharing kimchi—was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The importance of Kimjang lies not simply in making kimchi, but in the values surrounding it: families preparing food together, neighbors sharing what they have made, knowledge passing from one generation to the next, and communities strengthening their relationships through cooperation and generosity.
That spirit is at the heart of the Philadelphia Kimchi Festival.At LOVE Park, we bring the tradition of making and sharing into a modern, multicultural American city.
People who may never have made kimchi before can roll up their sleeves, gather around a table, learn together, and take part in a Korean tradition built around community. Kimchi brings us to the table. Culture brings us together. Sharing creates community.

Building Community Through Culture
The Philadelphia Kimchi Festival was born during a period when communities were experiencing isolation, uncertainty, and stress brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.KCul believed that arts and culture could help people reconnect. That belief continues to guide the festival today.We see culture as a powerful way to create conversations, strengthen relationships across generations and communities, and give people a sense of belonging.
The Philadelphia Kimchi Festival welcomes people regardless of age, ethnicity, or cultural background. Korean culture becomes the starting point—but community connection is the larger purpose.

KCul Foundation is a 501(c)3, and all donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. It is our goal to support immigrants and refuges adapting to the new social environment in the United States. We offer educational programs to help children facing difficulties in a bilingual environment and provide important services such as art and music therapy in their native language to the elderly who are at risk of being isolated from society and exposed to forms of depression due to language barriers.
