Bongsan Mask Dance-drama preservation society’s 22 performers from Korea will present their dynamic and spectacular mask dance performance with live music.

Bongsan Talchum is 17th of the Important Intangible Cultural Properties of Korea. It is a Korean dance performed while wearing a mask and, miming, speaking, or even singing. Dancers make movements by bending and stretching their arms, while holding onto their long sleeves. They jump high as well and extend the motions with their whole body as,wind, string, and percussion instruments play in the background. Altogether, these create an unforgettable performance.

A performance of this scale and caliber in this genre has not yet happened on the Philadelphia and New York regions. It will be an eye-opening event for the Korean and non-Korean community alike.
